SYNOPSIS

Year 7,147 of the Galactic Government.

Akion Tiles, at 23 years old, has spent the last seven years as an alinum loader on the bustling Uzhar Station in the Oshin star system, the cradle of the Mendes Nation. Amidst his monotonous routine and the scarce hours of rest, he still finds the strength to lend a hand in a modest mechanic workshop. However, despite his tireless efforts and dedication, he knows deep within that there is no hope or future for him. Restricted by his refugee status, he is condemned to live off the scraps and little sympathy he receives from the full-fledged citizens of the galaxy.

So, every night, when he closes his eyes, his mind transports him to a life beyond the shackles of the station, the schedules and those who treat him with contempt. He dreams of owning his own spaceship, sailing through space and having hundreds of adventures. Akion dreams of the impossible.

Or so he thought, until an unexpected opportunity crossed his path: a job offer to become the pilot of an experimental spacecraft created by the prestigious Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Mendran University.

Despite the fears that plague and gnaw at him, Akion decides to embark on this odyssey, unaware that he is about to live an experience that will not only change his life forever, but also push him beyond his own limits in ways he never imagined.

Are you ready to accompany Akion on his dizzying journey of self-discovery and self-improvement?

In "A Star on the Horizon" you will find in each chapter an illustration that will transport you and help you visualize the universe created by the author. All this without counting on the small Galactic Encyclopedia that will give you even more information about all the races, technologies and planets that you will find in the book.

DOUBLE CROSSED AND UNRAVELED by Kelsey Carlee

This memoir recounts the relationships that a young Kelsey experienced, such as how her whole world got turned upside down when she met Howie. It touches on her complicated relationship with her mother, and how the love she developed for Cole nearly cost her life.  The plot makes a full circle from when the author was younger to the adult version of herself, as she grieved the loss of her mother and had to look back at the past to be able to call things what they really were. This book chronicles the author's unraveling through poetry, letters, and recollection as an outlet to heal her past traumas.  Double Crossed and Unraveled is for every survivor of neglect and abuse. It touches on domestic violence, PTSD, sexual assault, complicated grief, addiction, and recovery. It’s easy to get lost in this "riveting" story that's difficult to set down once you begin reading. https://a.co/d/aBAoWDU
