Xander Chase and the Unicorn Code by Carrie Weston

“I think that the book is very captivating and interesting. At first, I thought that it wouldn't be my type of book, however as soon as I started reading the book, I was hooked. I was so excited by the story's beginning that I was desperate to find out what would happen that I read it in one night. I think that the story has a really unique storyline and interesting twist on unicorns and magical creatures. I think that it's really exciting that unicorns and angels aren't being portrayed as they usually are. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the trilogy and I hope they come out soon as Xander Chase and the Unicorn Code has become one of my favourite books.”—Molly Sherrard

"Fantastic crime thriller with lots of twists and turns. Not all is what it seems as you open your eyes to the realms beyond what you can see. Very much enjoyed this book, a must read for all fantasy fiction fans!"—Luke

"A journey that begins in the human world will sweep you into the Heavens, carry you to the realm of the Fae, and plunge you into the depths of Death himself. Author, Carrie Weston, skillfully weaves the threads of parallel stories into a single tapestry revealing the inner workings of the dimensions that lay just beyond the veil through which only we mere mortals cannot see.

Lilly Honey Star is a simple, innocent girl whose life is turned upside down when she answers the siren call of a beautiful midnight melody. In the days and weeks that follow she learns that her life is not what she has thought it to be, and that the world around her is so much bigger, and scarier, then she ever could have imagined.

Xander Chase and the Unicorn Code is Fantasy Mystery reading at its best. It is a thrilling, fast paced who-done-it filled with interesting and believable characters, set in fascinating and imaginative scenery. I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys either a good mystery, or a world of fantasy. If you are like me, and you enjoy both then this is a must have for your library. And Carrie Weston is definitely an author to follow. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. ."—William Fleming

"Xander Chase and the Unicorn Code is one of those books that intrigues you from the first page. It's dark, spooky and full of interesting characters who you can empathise with. I loved all the fantasical creatures. Definitely recommend reading if you like crime mixed with horror and fantasy! Hope there's more to come."—Emma R

Lilly Honey Star is a 15-year-old like no other; she is the sole survivor of a mass murder and is suspected of being the half-mad murderess. Detective Stacy has her doubts about Lilly’s guilt, and when a stranger starts asking bizarre questions, she—along with Lilly—is pulled into the core of the case, which is bigger and more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.

Xander Chase, the angel of death and judiciary of spirits, is on the case. Desperate to make his father, Death himself, proud, Xander must unravel the perilous lies and deceit that’s spread through the realms of sinister creatures, before the murderer’s eye turns on him.

This memoir recounts the relationships that a young Kelsey experienced, such as how her whole world got turned upside down when she met Howie. It touches on her complicated relationship with her mother, and how the love she developed for Cole nearly cost her life.  The plot makes a full circle from when the author was younger to the adult version of herself, as she grieved the loss of her mother and had to look back at the past to be able to call things what they really were. This book chronicles the author's unraveling through poetry, letters, and recollection as an outlet to heal her past traumas.  Double Crossed and Unraveled is for every survivor of neglect and abuse.
